Private Golden Circle Tour from Reykjavik
The Golden Circle is Iceland’s best-known day trip. On this tour you do it in a private vehicle, with only your own group on board. We visit Þingvellir National Park, the Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss waterfall, and we also stop at Þórufoss, a quiet waterfall that most tour buses drive straight past.

The stops
Þórufoss. An 18 m waterfall just east of Lake Þingvallavatn, on the Laxá í Kjós river, which is known for its Atlantic salmon. It’s rarely busy, it freezes over in winter, and Game of Thrones fans may recognise it from the series.
Þingvellir National Park. The early settlers founded Iceland’s parliament here in the year 930, and the national park was established in 1930. It is also one of the few places on earth where you can see the tectonic plates drifting apart, roughly 2.5 cm every year.
Geysir. A geothermal valley full of steaming ground and hot springs, where the water erupts high into the air.
Gullfoss. The name means “Golden Falls”. Meltwater from the Langjökull glacier flows down the Hvítá river and drops 32 m in two steps into a canyon about 2.5 km long.
Why book it private?
You set the pace. Spend longer at Gullfoss if you love it, skip what doesn’t interest you, and stop for photos when the light is right. There’s no coach timetable to fit around and no other groups to wait for, which makes it a relaxed day for families, couples and friends.
